The movie was originally scheduled to premiere on March 31 but was delayed. It will now be released on June 16. Netflix will make it available to audiences around the world, while Japanese fans can watch it in theaters. Ayataka Tanemura and Itsuko Takeda co-directed the character designs, and the music was composed by Minako Seki. Johnny Onda and Yuki Tabata, the original mangaka, were involved in the production. Johnny Onda was one of the screenwriters, and Yuki Tabata oversaw the production.

“Black Clover” is based on a manga created by Yuki Tabata. It started being serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 2015, and there are currently 33 volumes available. An anime adaptation by Pierrot studio aired from 2017 to 2021, consisting of 170 episodes. Viz Media holds the English license for the manga and describes the plot as “In a world where magic is everything, a young boy named Asta is born without any magical abilities. Despite this, he is determined to prove his strength and fulfill a promise to his friend by becoming the greatest wizard in the land, known as the Sorcerer King!”
