There was a time when the pandemic caused widespread disruption to seasonal anime series, leading to the postponement of episodes and even entire series.
While that situation has since stabilized, a new wave of postponements has emerged, not due to a health crisis but because of unrelated programming.
On August 13, it was announced that Episode 6 of ZOM 100: Bucket List of the Dead will not be airing next week. The reason? The 2023 World Athletics Championship is set to be broadcasted worldwide and will occupy the timeslot for Zom 100 episode 6. This will be the second delay for ZOM 100.
The World Athletics Championship will be held in Hungary from August 19 to August 27, 2023. As a result, more seasonal anime episodes are expected to be delayed in the upcoming week. The event’s week-long duration will likely affect the broadcasting schedule of various anime series.
This isn’t the first time recent sporting events have caused delays. In the last few days, anime series such as “My Tiny Senpai” and “Am I Actually the Strongest?” had episodes postponed by a week. This was due to the British Women’s Open 2023, held from August 11 to August 13, 2023.

What happened in Episode 5?
Episode 5 of ZOM 100 was titled “Hero of the Dead.” The episode started with a flashback in which Akira saved a dog from some adults who were tasing him. He then wakes up and tells Ryuuzaki his plan to become a hero of the zombie world.
To do this, they go to the aquarium to acquire Akira’s hero suit. As soon as Akira gets suited, he saves some people who zombies are attacking. One is Shizuka, the analyst freak Akira met at a convenience store.
To make his impression better in Shizuka’s eyes, Akira tries to show off. But this doesn’t help him at all. Now all of them are in the aquarium and safe from the zombies. Shizuka asks Aakira again what he will gain from saving others. She says that he will only make people who care for him worried.
Ryuuzaki tries to enter the conversation, but even he is left speechless in front of Shizuka. During this, they hear a strange noise. Akira and Ryyuzaki go to see what is making this noise. To their surprise, it is a shark with legs because of the zombies it ate.
It is a race against time to stay safe from this beast. Everyone escapes the shark except Shizuka. As soon as the shark attacks Shizuka, Akira comes out of nowhere and saves her. She again asks him why he would save a stranger. He says he felt like it and doesn’t need a reason for everything.
Now, Shizuka and Akira try to fight the shark. Shizuka plans to stun the Ampullae of Lorenzini (sensory organs) of the shark to faint it. Now, both of them split paths. Ryuuzaki tries to help, but he is left helpless. In the end, Akira stuns the shark with the help of Shizuka.
On their way back, Shizuka gives Akira her contact details, as she is now someone precious to Akira. Now, Akira plans to travel to Gumna to meet his parents and make one point off his bucket list.
What to expect from Episode 6 of ZOM 100?
Episode 6 of ZOM 100: Bucket List of the Dead is titled “RV of the Dead.” There is no preview trailer available for this episode as of yet.
Following the previous episode, we can relate this title to Akira using an RV (Recreational Vehicle) to travel to Gunma. And considering how lax Akira and Ryuuzaki are, they might face trouble choosing one.
