Blurring the line between fiction and reality, this season’s escape from success stars Aqua and Ruby. Oshi no Koadorned the cover August 2023 edition of SPUR with new illustrations by manga artist Mengo Yokoyari. The glossy fashion magazine is dedicated to womenswear fashion similar to Elle or Vogue, and now Aquamarine and Ruby Hoshino are stepping into the real world with their own fashion debuts.
Chosen by HORIE, editor of SPUR magazine, Aquamarine and Ruby appear in stylish black outfits with their signature eye colors matching their namesake jewellery. In an announcement post for the August 2023 cover, HORIE explained the creation process as follows: “I choose Tiffany’s large aquamarine ring for Aqua and beautiful pink-toned Dior Fine Jewelry earrings and necklaces for Ruby.”
The August issue of SPUR will also feature a 6-page article featuring dialogues between manga creators Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari.
Oshi no KoThe manga began serialization in 2020. Weekly Junior Jump magazine. The story focuses on the dark side of the entertainment industry and is Aka Akasaka’s second manga after it. Kaguya-sama: Love is War. Yen Press licenses the series in English.
HIDDEN simulates the anime with English subtitles and dubbed every Wednesday. The platform explains the plot as follows:

The anime has been incredibly popular so far and has topped our own Spring 2023 charts seven times in a row after it premiered in mid-April. YOASOBI’s opening song “Idol” even topped the Billboard GLOBAL charts.
