The end of the Spring 2023 anime release list is finally here as millions of fans around the world bid farewell to some of their favorite shows.
However, while the simulcast schedule between local and international audiences remains as complex as ever, it can be quite difficult to keep track of when a season finale, including Vinland Saga, will actually air.

No, Vinland Saga season 2 episode 25 will not air this week on June 26 as many fans had anticipated.
This is because the second season of the popular Viking anime series officially ended last week, with the 24th episode ‘Home’ premiering on June 19th as the ending of the Slave Story Arc.
The only new episode of Vinland Saga to air this week is episode 22 of ‘Emperor of Rebellion’, which will be available in Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, Hindi, Castilian, Italian, Russian and English.
The Slave Arc may have had a very competitive streaming experience at the start of season 2’s simulcast, but the series is still receiving positive reviews on various fan aggregation websites, including 8.84/10 am on MyAnimeList, 88% on Anilist, and 4.3/. succeeded. 5 on Anime Planet.
season 2 finale adapted Up to the 100th episode of Makoto Yukimura’s original manga series. At the time of writing, 203 chapters have been released in 27 Tankobon volumes in Japan, which means we’re about halfway through the original story of the Vinland Saga so far.

While still awaiting official confirmation that Vinland Saga season 3 will go into production, it’s very likely that Thorfinn’s journey will eventually continue with a third anime release.
As mentioned earlier, there is a lot of source material left to deal with from the original manga series, and this can often be a deciding factor in whether an anime is shelved in favor of another project.
The only major thing we can expect from Vinland Saga season 3 is the production schedule of Studio MAPPA, arguably one of the best and also one of the busiest production studios working in the industry today.
The studio is working on Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 (Summer 2023), Alice to Therese (Fall 2023), Attack on Titan: The Final Season (Fall 2023), and Bucchigiri (Winter 2024). With more anticipated refreshes added for One-Punch Man and Chainsaw Man respectively, there’s a good chance we won’t see Thorfinn return until at least late 2024.
